From street rider to street preacher

EdRo BMX Pro

Eddie Roman is a former professional BMX freestyle rider and action sports filmmaker who played a role in the growth of BMX culture during its early years. As a rider, he was passionate about creativity and pushing limits. Behind the camera, he helped pioneer action sports video production, capturing the energy and excitement of BMX freestyle and street riding. By combining his experience as an athlete with his skills as a storyteller, Eddie created authentic content that inspired riders; first through mail-order VHS tapes, then as co-producer, cameraman and editor of Crank TV on Fox Sports Network. He is regarded as a pioneer of both BMX street riding and BMX video production. Eddie was inducted into the BMX Hall of Fame in 2025.

Saved by Grace

Eddie Roman's life was forever changed when a BMX riding friend shared the Gospel with him and invited him to church. There, he encountered the reality of God's holiness, love, grace, and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. He understood he was a sinner in need of a Savior. What began as a simple invitation became a life-transforming experience as God opened his eyes to the truth and gave him a new purpose. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Eddie turned from living for himself to living for God, beginning a lifelong journey of faith, ministry, and evangelism. He turned his camera lens towards the mission field and spent 8 years working in Sudan, Pakistan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia and other international hotspots. Eddie has provided video support for international and domestic ministries such as the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Harvest: Greg Laurie, Safe Harbor International Relief and Way of the Master with Ray Comfort.

Discipled by A Legend

Ray Comfort is arguably the most influential biblical evangelist of our time. Countless believers around the world have learned how to share the gospel through his preaching, YouTube witnessing clips and Way of the Master TV show. As Ray’s producer / director / cameraman, Eddie had the privilege of standing next to Ray during countless witnessing encounters and open air preaching outreaches. Along the way, Eddie became an open air preacher and eventually taught alongside Ray at Living Waters’ Ambassadors Academy. After 16 years of personal discipleship by Ray Comfort, Eddie answered the call to put down the camera and take up the cross (Luke 9:23). Eddie continues to work as a freelance producer for Ray and Living Waters on occasion, and he also teaches at the Ambassadors Academy when his schedule permits.

Called to the Street

Eddie is now a full-time evangelist, preaching the gospel and teaching Christians how to evangelize. Street outreach, abortion clinic ministry and evangelism training are a regular part of his weekly schedule. The goal of Street Pulpit is to preach the gospel in the public square and disciple believers to do the same.

Many churches have members who desire to reach the lost, but they need a little training and encouragement to get them going. Eddie serves as an instigator, working alongside the local church, under the authority of thier leadership, encouraging and helping churches form evangelism ministries. A small spark can start a fire, and a short weekend of training can set in motion a lifetime of outreach.

First the street corner, then the city, then the world.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit - Matthew 28:19
